CFLR Program Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Does the Act prohibit the use of the funds off of NFS lands using Wyden authority? Can the matching Regional money be used for work off of NFS lands using Wyden authority and still be counted as a match?

Answer

The Act states that the CFLR Fund can be “used to pay up to 50% of the cost of carrying out and monitoring ecological restoration treatments on National Forest System land”. These funds cannot be spent on non-NFS lands. However, CFLRP projects may expend non-CFLN funding through the Wyden authority to accomplish CFLRP goals and these funds should be counted as match.
