Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg)

Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) stores data about trees, fuels, down woody material, surface cover, and understory vegetation. FSVeg supports the business of common stand exam, fuels data collection, permanent grid inventories, and other vegetation inventory collection processes.

Exams Software for FSVeg

Synchronization Software

Windows Mobile Device Center (12/18/2017 12M) - Microsoft's Windows Mobile Device Center, synchronization software for Windows Mobile-based handheld devices in combination with desktops/laptops using Windows 7 and later. Use with all PDRs.

Remember, if you use the Windows Mobile Device Center, you MUST delete the following dlls from the C:\Exams folder if they exist:

• ceutils.dll
• rapi.dll

Bundled Software by Device

Data collection software has been developed and tested on each of the following devices. Selecting a device will download a self-extracting file containing the software for that device, similar software that runs on any Windows 7, or later, Forest Service desktop or laptop, Regional Templates, and help files.

If your device is not listed, look for a device with a similar platform and chipset. For additional information on individual devices, see CSE Compatible Windows CE Data Recorders. If you are not sure which device to choose, contact the PDR staff for assistance.

Other Software

• examspc_win7_v2.43.0.zip (03/21/2024 7.9M) - contains only the PC version that runs on Windows 7 and Windows 10. This requires that the Windows Mobile Device Center is installed on your Windows 7, or Windows 10, desktop or laptop computer.
• vcredist_x86.exe (05/17/2016 4.0M) - This Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run ExamsPC's Database Loader. This is required for ExamsDbLoader to work with ExamsPC v02.15.2010.3 and newer.
