Data Acquisition

Here you may obtain programs to translate, convert, and query data for use with FVS. Download data translators for forest plot and stand polygon information available from Forest Service sources.

Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) Data

The FVS_DB_LINK utility builds Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS) data files for settings that have been loaded into FSVeg.

Forest Inventory Analysis (FIA) Data

Each States FIA database (FIADB) also includes FVS-ready tables. The FIADB (SQLite) state tables can be downloaded from the FIA DATAMART.

Blank FVS Database

Forest inventory information should be loaded into an FVS-ready input database. Input databases are available in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and SQLite formats. Each file contains the necessary tables to input stand, plot, and tree attributes utilized by FVS.
