    ***Update***

    Due to unfavorable forecasted weather over the next several days, the PSICC is no longer planning to conduct prescribed fire operations as planned. These projects will be postponed to a later date when more favorable conditions are expected.  

    Prescribed Fire Notice

    Fire managers on the PSICC plan to implement two prescribed fire projects next week. 

     Pikes Peak Ranger District:

    1,000-acre Mothball Springs prescribed fire is planned to begin on Monday, June 2, and is about 5 miles east of Woodland Park within El Paso County. #MothballRX

    South Platte Ranger District:

    654-acre Green Mountain prescribed fire is planned to begin on Monday, June 2, and is near Buffalo Creek Recreation Area and Forest Service Road 550 within Jefferson County. #GreenMountainRX

    Fire managers will monitor weather and fuel conditions and may postpone or cancel prescribed fire activities if conditions are unfavorable.

    Please use caution when traveling and recreating in the project areas.
