CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION:

The Pomas Fire Area Closure is defined as follows:

The boundary of the closure area begins at the confluence of the Chiwawa River and Alder Creek in T27N R17E section 13 and follows the Chiwawa River north and west until it reaches the confluence with Raging Creek in T28N R17E section 20. It continues along Raging Creek through T28N R16 PB39, where it leaves the creek and moves southwest to McCall Mountain in Section 23. It follows the crest of Chiwawa Ridge north and west, over Little Giant Pass and Buck Mountain, until it intersects the Wenatchee River RD boundary at High Pass in T30N R15E section 11.

From here the closure continues along the Wenatchee River RD boundary north, east, and south until it reaches the summit of Seven Fingered Jack in T31N R16E section 26. The closure then follows the boundary of the Entiat Ranger District north, then east, then south to Crescent Hill in T29N R19E section 25.

From here the closure continues along the north side of Trail #1443 until its junction with Trail #1445, then continues along the center of Trail #1443 until it reaches Lake Creek Campground. The closure includes Lake Creek Campground and continues alone Trail #1423 south and west until it reaches the junction with Trail #1415.

It then follows the north and east side of Trail #1415 until it intersects Trail #1409.1 in T28N R18E section 29 and follows that trail south to the junction with Trail #1421 in section 31. From this junction, the closure continues southwest to the headwaters of Elder Creek in T27N R18E section 6 and follows Elder Creek to its confluence with Alder Creek and eventually to the origin at the Chiwawa River.
