Mingus Ranch Cabin

Located in the Wet Mountains, approximately 1 hours from Colorado Springs and 45 minutes from Pueblo. The Mingus cabin is an early 20th Century ranch that has been renovated by the Forest Service, the Frontier Pathways Scenic and Historic Byway and the Colorado State Historical Society. Ophir Creek Campground

A developed campground camping with the following activities available: stream fishing, hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Spring Creek Trailhead

St. Charles Campground

St. Charles Campground is a developed campground with the following attractions: hiking, fishing and boating. On Lake Isabel only non-motorized boats are permitted. St Charles Creek runs through the campground and may be fished. Access to motorized and non-motorized trails including Cisneros, St. Charles, and Snowslide. Aspen Campground is four miles north of Jefferson off County Road 35 and County Road 37. It is an excellent place for campers looking to relax, hike, fish and enjoy the sounds of nature. The campground sits near Jefferson Creek, a few miles downriver of Jefferson Lake. Blue Mountain Campground

Blue Mountain Campground is located 1.5 miles south of Lake George off CR96 and CR61.  It has 21 campsites with parking spurs 16-40 feet and a maximum trailer length of 25 feet; elevation is 8,200 feet; Facilities include toilets, water, tables, and fire rings.  There is no trash at this campground. Dates are weather dependent. All services may not be available early or late in the season.

Boreas Pass Section House

The section house is located at the summit of Boreas Pass and in the late 1800s and early 1900s served as the main building for the Denver, South Pacific, and Pacific Railroad when it made its way over the pass.  This area was the site of the highest narrow guage railroad in the United States.  During the period between 1870 and 1920, a town of 150 people existed at Boreas Pass helping…

Cove Campground

Cove Campground is located 7 miles SW of Lake George on CR 96, in Eleven Mile Canyon, below the reservoir. The campground  has four campsites with parking spurs 25-34 feet; elevation is 9,900 feet; Facilities include toilets, water, trash, tables, and fire rings. Reservations are recommended during the busy summer months.  

Eleven Mile Picnic Area

Eleven Mile Picnic Area is one of four picnic areas in Eleven Mile Canyon. There are 15 picnic sites here each equipped with a grill, picnic table, and parking.

Fourmile Campground

Fourmile Campground is located 9 miles west of Fairplay on CR 18.  It offers a setting with a lot of trees providing shade and some privacy between sites. Surfaces are compacted gravel. Happy Meadows Campground

Happy Meadows Campground is located three miles north of Lake George off CR77.  Parking spurs are 20-30 feet with a maximum trailer length of 22 feet; elevation is 7,900 feet. Facilities include toilets, tables, water, and fire rings. The South Platte River is nearby for fishing.

Jefferson Creek Campground

Jefferson Creek Campground has 17 campsites with parking spurs of 25-40 feet and a maximum trailer length of 25 feet. The elevation is 10,100 feet. Facilities include toilets, tables, water, trash, and fire rings. 

Jefferson Lake Picnic Area

Jefferson Lake Picnic Area is next to Jefferson Lake.  There are six picnic sites each equipped with a grill, a picnic table, and parking for up to two vehicles. Vault toilets and drinking water are available. 

Lodgepole Campground

Lodgepole Campground is located four miles north of Jefferson off County Road 35 and County Road 37. It has 34 campsites with parking spurs 20-40 feet and a maximum trailer length of 30 feet. The elevation is 9,900 feet. Facilities include toilets, tables, water, trash, and fire rings. Dates are weather dependent. All services may not be available early or late in the season.

Pelican Guard Station Day Use Area
