Fishing
The fish, other aquatic species, and the habitat where they thrive hold tremendous value. There are over 220,000 miles of fishable streams and rivers and more than 10 million acres of fishable lakes and reservoirs on the National Forest and Grasslands. We help to improve and protect the habitat for many fish and other aquatic species with high conservation, cultural, and economic value.

Other Opportunities
With over 300 youth fishing events, and state-sponsored free fishing days, we partner with others to develop the next generation of aquatic resource stewards. Our partners offer events and opportunities to get out and fish in an area near you. We work in cooperation with state fish and wildlife agencies and with many partners, like the American Sportfishing Association, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation, Future Angler Foundation, Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, Trout Unlimited, and Urban American Outdoors, to promote recreational fishing across the country.
