Horse Riding and Camping

The Boise National Forest has hundreds of trails available for horse use. Some have transfer stations and hitching posts. However, there are no trails dedicated only for horseback riding. All trails open to horses receive multiple use. Two featured equestrian camping areas with established trails are the Whoop-em up Equestrian Campground on the Idaho City RD and Bull Trout Lake Campground on the Lowman Ranger District.
