Deer Point Trail, Road and Area Closure for July 21- Nov. 28
Bogus Basin area’s Deer Point Project begins a new area closure for public safety due to active logging operations. The closure will be in effect weekdays beginning July 21 and running through Nov. 28. This closure includes upper Eastside Trail.

PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following is prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) road in the Mountain Home Ranger District, Boise National Forest, described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this order as Exhibit A (the “Described Area, Road, and Trail”):
1. Going into or being upon the Described Area. 36 C.F.R § 261.52(e).
2. Being on the Described Road. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(e).
3. Being on the Described Trail. 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e) (1) or (2).
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.
DESCRIBED AREA, ROAD, AND TRAIL
The Described Area is all NFS Lands within the following boundaries:
1. Beginning at the intersection of Forest Road #297 (Bogus Basin Road) and the southern tributary stream of Shafer Creek in Section 21, Township 5 North (T5N), Range 3 East (R3E), and following northwest until its first intersection with Shafer Creek at the crossing of NFS Trail #120 (Eastside Trail) in Section 21.
2. Following Shafer Creek northwest until the intersection with NFS Trail #122 (Sinker Creek) in Section 20, T5N, R3E.
3. Following but not including NFS Trail #122 west until the second intersection with Shafer Creek in Section 19, T5N, R3E.
4. Following Shafer Creek northwest until its intersection with the Boise National Forest boundary in Section 19, T5N, R3E.
5. Following the Boise National Forest boundary north until its intersection with Bogus Creek in Section 8, T5N, R3E.
6. Following Bogus Creek east until its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 9, T5N, R3E.
7. Following but not including Forest Road #297 southwest until the Boise National Forest boundary in Section 9, T5N, R3E.
8. Following the Boise National Forest boundary south, then east until its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 21, T5N, R3E.
9. Following but not including Forest Road #297 south until its intersection with the southern tributary stream of Shafer Creek Section 21, T5N, R3E.
The Described Road is NFS Road 274 within and adjacent to the Described Area above.
The Described Trails are as follows:
1. NFS Trail #120 (Eastside Trail) from its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 21, T5N, R3E to its intersection with NFS Trail #357 (Pat’s Trail) in Section 20, T5N, R3E.
2. NFS Trail #145 (Redtail Trail) from its junction with Forest Road #297 in Section 9, T5N, R3E to its intersection with the southern boundary of Section 9, T5N, R3E which is the Boise National Forest boundary.
3. NFS Trail #148 (Lower Loop Nordic) from its first intersection with Forest Road # 274 in Section 16, T5N, R3E to its second intersection with Forest Road #274 in Section 17, T5N, R3E.
The Described Area, Road, and Trail are located in the Mountain Home Ranger District, Boise National Forest, Boise County, Idaho, Boise Meridian.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety during timber harvest operations.
IMPLEMENTATION
1. This order shall be in effect from July 21 through November 28, 2025, from 6 AM Monday through 6 PM Friday each week.
2. A map identifying the Described Area, Road, and Trail is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A.
3. Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are defined by the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are terms in this order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain language definitions.
4. A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.

6. This Order supersedes Order 0402-01-113 and any other Orders prohibiting the same or similar acts on the same Described Area, Road, or Trail.
