HANDS ON INSPECTIONS FOR 2024 SOLICITATIONS
Hands On Inspections for Misc. Heavy Equipment
(This is a COMPLIANCE inspection)
- Once the solicitation is closed Vendors/resources will be selected (randomly for Misc. Heavy Equipment) and notified by R6 Contract Operations of selection for a Hands-On inspection. An email will be sent within 24-48 hours to the Vendor email of record in VIPR.
- The Vendor will then select an Inspection Provider they wish to work with to get the resource inspected.
- Vendors and Inspection Providers will work together to arrange an inspection.
- Vendors are responsible for payment to the Inspection Provider.
- The Inspection Provider(s) will provide a copy of the Post Award Inspection checklist/report to the Vendor and a copy to Region 6 Fire Contract Operations by email to SM.FS.fact@usda.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. May 10, 2024.
Equipment Inspections must be complete by May 3, 2024.

Hands On Inspections for Potable & Gray Water Truck / Handwash Stations, Trailer Mounted
(This is a COMPLIANCE inspection)
- Once the solicitation is closed Vendors/resources for all Potable Water Trucks will be notified by R6 Contract Operations of selection for a Hands-On inspection. An email will be sent within 24-48 hours to the Vendor email of record in VIPR.
- The Vendor will then select an Inspection Provider they wish to work with to get the resource inspected.
- Vendors and Inspection Providers will work together to arrange an inspection.
- Vendors are responsible for payment to the Inspection Provider.
- Vendors must provide the certifed weight tickets from their Technical Quote submission to the inspector.
- The Inspection Provider(s) will provide a copy of the Post Award Inspection checklist/report to the Vendor and a copy to Region 6 Fire Contract Operations by email to SM.FS.fact@usda.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. May 10, 2024.
Equipment Inspections must be complete by May 3, 2024.

Hands On Inspections for Heavy Equipment and Vehicle with Driver resources
(This is a COMPLIANCE inspection)
Region 6 (R6) is implementing a new inspection process in order to comply with the 2023 Heavy Equipment and Vehicle with Driver solicitations.
- Once the solicitation is closed Vendors/resources will be randomly selected and notified by R6 Contract Operations of selection for a Hands On inspection.
- The Vendor will then select an Inspection Provider they wish to work with to get the resource inspected.
- Vendors and Inspection Providers will work together to arrange an inspection.
- Vendors are responsible for payment to the Inspection Provider.
- The Inspection Provider(s) will provide a copy of the Post Award Inspection checklist/report to the Vendor and a copy to Region 6 Fire Contract Operations by email to SM.FS.fact@usda.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. May 10, 2023.
Equipment Inspections must be complete by May 5, 2023.
**RESOURCES THAT ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A “HANDS ON INSPECTION” FOR THE 2023 FIRE SEASON AND DO NOT COMPLETE AN INSPECTION OR DO NOT PASS AN INSPECTION MUST COMPLETE A “HANDS ON INSPECTION” BY MAY 4, 2024, OR IT WILL BE SUBJECT TO A NON-AWARD DECISION.**
