Project Reports

National Forest Genetics Laboratory (NFGEL) projects are processed to meet a variety of management objectives. Project results are largely used to guide restoration and conservation projects, and assist in silviculture and tree improvement activities. Although Agency priorities have changed over the 25-year history of the lab, our ability to use genetic data to allow managers to make more informed, science based decisions remains the same.

To date, NFGEL has processed 284 projects (approximately 10 per year), and generated genetic data on 161 different plant species (PDF, 292 KB). Our master list of NFGEL projects (below) specifies each project by cooperator, species, date reported, and project title.
