Upper Lake Ranger District Campground Host Position Available
The Upper Lake Ranger District is looking for a volunteer camp host (couples given preference for safety) for the Middle Creek campground. This is a volunteer position. Water, trash, electrical and septic hook-up services are provided. Requirements include having a self-contained trailer, providing visitor information and completing light maintenance work. Volunteer with the Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Program or Camp host on the Grindstone Ranger District
The Stonyford OHV program offers ATV and Motorcycle training courses to many of our volunteers. When you sign up as a volunteer, you can take these riding classes, get certified to operate a chainsaw and perform basic trail maintenance while enjoying the many trail riding opportunities on the Mendocino National Forest. You can also sign up for trail patrols and be a second set of eyes to report trail conditions and maintenance issues. The Grindstone Ranger District will soon begin recruiting campground hosts for Fouts and Letts Lake Campgrounds.

About Forest Service Volunteering
Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Forest Service. Volunteers can perform many types of work. The only tasks a volunteer cannot carry out are those associated with law enforcement. Your talents and skills are matched with your work preference to obtain a role that satisfies you and best fulfills the mission of the Forest Service. You may work on a part-time or full-time basis. You can participate in a one-time project or serve over several months, seasons, or year around. The commitment you make is up to you. Training may also be provided to you if your job requires it.
