The trailhead is located at Harts Pass. 

Provides access to Pasayten Wilderness, Pacific Crest Trail #2000 and nearby Slate Peak, Slate Pass, and Canyon Creek trailheads.

Directions

From Mazama, head north on the Lost River Road NF-5400. In 9 miles, turn right on NF-5400 and begin climbing toward Harts Pass in 8.7 miles. This section of the road can be very rugged and narrow in places and is suitable for high clearance vehicles only. Slate Peak Trailhead can be reached by continuing past Harts Pass for 2.7 miles.
