Cutthroat Trailhead

This forested trailhead gives access to Cutthroat Creek Trail #483 and Pacific Crest Trail #2000. 

General Information

Not accessible during the winter season when North Cascades Scenic Highway (State Route 20) is closed. 

Recreation passes honored: Digital Day Pass, Northwest Forest Pass, and Interagency Recreation Passes.

Restrictions

  • Bicycles are allowed up to Cutthroat Pass but not allowed beyond the pass on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.
  • No overnight camping within a 1/4 mile of Cutthroat Lake. 

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per annual

Directions

From Winthrop, drive west on State Route 20 for about 28 miles (or 1.5 miles west of Lone Fir Campground). Turn right on Forest Service Road 400 and follow for 1 mile to the trailhead.

Parking

Parking is very limited and fills quickly. Please follow all posted signage. Do not block emergency vehicle access or impede the roadway. Be prepared to choose another hike if parking is full.
