PROHIBITIONS

The area within the boundary shown on the map, exhibit 1, is closed to motorized use, except snowmobiles, all year, with the following exceptions: 

  1. Motorized Vehicles licensed for highway use are permitted on the roads listed in exhibit 2, which are marked with a green diamond.
  2. Within the Resource Management Areas shown on the map, exhibit I, Motorized Vehicles are permitted on unnumbered spur roads that are marked with a green diamond, terminating at a vehicle closure sign or
    barricade.
  3. Within the Manastash Creek Drainage and outside the Resource Management Areas shown on the map, exhibit 1, Motorized Vehicles licensed for highway use are permitted off listed roads, to a distance of 100 feet for parking or camping purposes, in a manner which does not damage or unreasonably disturb the soils, vegetation, scenic quality, cultural resources or water quality.
  4. Trails open to Motorized Vehicles are listed in exhibit 3 and are marked with a green diamond. Along with the green diamond, the types of motor vehicles permitted on each trail will be designated with symbol signs. All trails are open to Hiker, Equestrian, and Mountain Bicycle use.
     

Motorized use here is prohibited in order to prevent damage to resources such as water quality, soils, vegetation, scenic quality and cultural resources.

EXEMPTIONS

The following persons are exempt from this order:

  1.  Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
  2. Persons with a permit issued by the District Ranger or Forest Supervisor.
