Cats Paw River Camp

Cats Paw Camp is a boat-in campsite along the north side of the Green River, located about 1.3 miles below Little Hole Boat Ramp. This area is typical of a high desert environment, with shady junipers, cottonwoods, Ponderosa pines, and summer wildflowers. This site can accommodate 6-8 people.

Reservations may be made for six sites (Bootleg, Cats Paw, Cottonwood, Big Pine I, Big Pine II, and Trail's End) by calling 1-877-444-6777 or go online at "http://www.recreation.gov".  All other sites are first come, first served.  Registration for campsite use must be made the day of use at Little Hole on the Camp Registration Board.

All campers are required to have a portable toilet system.  There are no garbage facilities.  Please pack out your garbage.

Directions

From Vernal UT, take US Highway 191 north 45 miles. Cross the Flaming Gorge Dam and turn right on road leading to upper launch site at Spillway Boat Ramp. A second launch is 7 miles down the river at Little Hole Boat Ramp. Cross the dam and continue to the town of Dutch John. Turn right off Highway 191 and go east on Little Hole Road (Forest Road 075) about 6 miles. The site is 8.5 miles below Spillway and 1.3 miles below Little Hole. From Rock Springs, WY, take US Highway 191 south 63 miles. Just before crossing the dam, turn left on the road to Spillway Boat Ramp, or at the town of Dutch John, turn left off Highway 191 and go east on Little Hole Road (Forest Road 075) about 6 miles. The site is 8.5 miles below Spillway, and 1.3 miles below Little Hole.
