Camping & Cabins
The Santa Fe National Forest offers beautiful camping areas that range from low to high elevation, high desert to forested and primitive to developed. Developed campgrounds offer amenities ranging from electrical hookups for RV or trailer camping, to only a toilet.
Primitive camping is allowed almost anywhere on the Santa Fe National Forest unless otherwise posted. These areas generally do not offer any amenities although occasionally you will find a toilet building or a picnic table and grill. Please keep your campsite at least 100 feet from streams and lakes, including riverbanks or areas next to bodies of water. This will help preserve the health of the riparian area and protect sensitive animals and plants found here.

Santa Fe National Forest offers a variety of campgrounds. The campgrounds range from highly developed, with RV sites and electrical hook ups, to primitive, with only toilets.
Many campgrounds are available by reservation on Recreation.gov.
There are many places on the Santa Fe National Forest for recreational vehicle camping. Developed campgrounds are among the most popular places and are located throughout the forest. Find a site below and learn details like partial RV hookups, or first-come, first-serve availability. Other RV camping sites are available to reserve online.
Group campsites are available on the following districts: Jemez, Pecos, Cuba, and Coyote.
Online reservations can be made for certain group campsites.
The two sites on Coyote Ranger District are non-reservation sites.
