Typically, when a new wildfire starts, we will post our first message on Facebook. New incidents are also reflected on www.mtfireinfo.org. If the incident is large and looks like it'll be ongoing for a week or more, we will post it to Inciweb. If you see a new fire start that has not been reported, please call 911.

Facebook updates
Typically, during an emerging wildfire incident, we will get a message notifying the public out on Facebook. This initial message is typically followed up with more detailed information later in the day.

We recognize that even fires that are hundreds of miles away can have an impact on local communities due to smoke.
