Buffalo Gap Trail
The Buffalo Gap Trail connects to the Buffalo Gap Campground via a short, 1.3-mile spur trail. This spur trail allows hikers and bikers to easily access the campground from the main Buffalo Gap Trail, which is a longer, 18.9-mile single-track mountain bike trail.
The spur trail offers a convenient link for campers who wish to explore the surrounding trails and scenery.
The Buffalo Gap Trail intersects with the Maah Daah Hey Trail north of the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, between mile posts 61 and 62.
Beginning at Maah Daah Hey Trail (MDHT) mile marker (mm) 49.5, the Buffalo Gap Trail traverses 19 miles to completely bypass the South Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and reconnects to the MDHT at mm 61. This trail was created for users who cannot or do not wish to enter the park, such as cyclists who are forbidden from riding on the MDHT through the park.
