Area closure for the Casa Loma recreation residence at 69 Casa Loma road to include the structures and property located at the second driveway after crossing the Forest boundary prior to the dead-end of Casa Loma Road accessed off of New Mexico State Highway 14 as specifically shown in Exhibit A map.

The Sandia Crest House within the Sandia Crest Recreation Site to include the structure located at the top of the Sandia Crest at the end of New Mexico State Highway 536 as specifically shown in Exhibit A map will be closed for public health and safety of an abandoned structure until a permit is issued to occupy the structure or removal and site restoration occur.
The Cibola National Forest & National Grasslands Supervisor’s and all Ranger District offices will close Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day — a federal holiday to remember and honor those who gave their lives in military service to our nation.
The Cibola NF & NGs offices will resume regular office business hours on Tuesday, May 28.
The following areas are closed to entry as shown on Exhibit A: T4S R3W Sections 04 & 05, Southeast of South Baldy trail, Northeast of Timber Peak/Six-mile trail and West of Water Canyon.
The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety from post-accident hazards associated with a large piece of equipment overturned on a steep slope above a trail.
This Order shall be in effect from May 25, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. through August 31, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. unless rescinded.
The following developed recreation sites are closed to entry: Upper Red Campground, Red Canyon Trailhead and Spruce Spring Trailhead.
The following NFS Roads are also closed: NFS Road 253 beginning at its entry point into Upper Red Canyon Campground and continuing to its termination point at Red Canyon Trailhead and Spruce Spring Trailhead, Section 34, Township 5N, Range 5E.
The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety from hazard trees which have fallen over the winter or pose a risk of falling due to Tussock Moth infestation within the campground and trailheads.
This Order shall be in effect from April 30, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. through December 31, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. unless rescinded.
The Area Closure for Cedro 4 Project Area South of Forest Road 462 will be in effect from May 1, 2024, through May 31, 2024, at 6:00 am. The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety during mechanized thinning work in the Cedro 4 project area south of Forest Road 462.

This Order supersedes the previous Order of 03-03-05-24-02 prohibiting the same or similar acts in the same Described Area.
The Sandia Ranger District office located at 11776 Highway 337, Tijeras, NM 87059 will be temporarily closed to all services at this location from Wed., March 12 – Thurs., March 13 due to facility repair work.

Starting March 11, 2024 at 12:01 a.m, through December 31, 2024, all the National Forest System lands, roads, campgrounds, and trails located in Hemphill County, TX within the boundaries of the Lake Marvin Unit of the Black Kettle National Grassland of the Cibola National Forest, as depicted on Exhibit A are closed. The purpose of this Order is to provide for public health and safety due to the conditions created from the Smokehouse Fire.
Contact the Black Kettle Ranger District in 580-497-2143, and Cibola National Forest & Grasslands Supervisor’s Office in 505-346-3900, for more information about this Order. This Order supersedes any previous Orders prohibiting the same or similar acts in the same Described Area
