5.8 Windbreaks for Livestock

Windbreaks located perpendicular to winter winds can protect livestock while allowing cooling summer winds to circulate in the feedlot or pasture. Protect windbreaks from grazing which can reduce windbreak effectiveness. Runoff from feedlot should be directed away from trees and should be treated (see 1.0).
