Join the Connecting Culture Through Film mini film festival on Microsoft Teams live May 7.

CALIFORNIA—As part of the celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Region 5 is hosting a mini film festival via Teams Live.

Join the region May 7, 12:00-1:30 p.m. Pacific, as it screens two poignant short videos produced by the Forest Service and partners.

Each film will be followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers and participants.

  • JEDI In Action: AAPI in the Pacific Northwest (3 minutes)—Explore the experiences of several Asian American Forest Service employees.

    • Panel: Filmmakers Felipe Benitez and Stacy Whittle of Corazón Latino and Anne Poopatanapong from the Forest Service

  • Tracing History (13 minutes)—Follow a Chinese-American mother and daughter on a road trip to reconnect with their ancestors and each other.

Hilda Kwan from the Forest Service will moderate both panels.
