Delta National Forest celebrates Earth Day

May 11, 2017

Delta National Forest in Mississippi hosted an Earth Day conservation event April 21.

Forest Service employees taught the visitors about forest food webs, poisonous and invasive plants, and aquatic habitats. The most exciting education topics included acting out local forest food webs and seeing a fish shocking boat in the middle of Blue Lake.

“We appreciate the great support of our partners and the participation by the wonderful young people,” said Ranger Valencia Morris. “At our Earth Day program, young people learned about natural resources and this great Mississippi treasure: the Delta National Forest.”
