HRM: 2024 pay raise for GS employees
2024 pay raise for the general schedule pay system is the largest since the 1980s
Federal government employees who are paid using the General Schedule pay plan, including Law Enforcement Officers, are receiving an average 5.2% pay increase for 2024, which will be effective Jan. 14, 2024. This is the largest pay raise federal employees have received since the 1980s. The average 5.2% pay increase will vary for employees based on their applicable locality pay rates associated with geographic locations.
In addition, the Office of Personnel Management has defined four new pay rate localities for Fresno-Madera-Hanford, California; Reno-Fernley, Nevada; Rochester-Batavia-Seneca Falls, New York; and Spokane-Spokane Valley-Coeur d'Alene, Washington-Idaho.
Employees can view the 2024 GS pay tables on the OPM website.
