The public comment period ended on October 07, 2022. Comments were collected and reviewed by U.S. Forest Service program managers and leadership. Based on public feedback, some elements of the original Recreation Fee Proposal were modified.

The modified Recreation Fee Proposal was brought forward to the current the Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) during public meetings on March 9 and 10, 2023 for review and approval. The RAC members represent a broad array of recreation interest groups to help ensure that the Forest Service is proposing reasonable and publicly acceptable fee changes.
