Welcome to the Laurentian Ranger District. This district is the southern portion of the Superior National Forest stretching from McCarthy State Park north of Hibbing, MN to near the north shore of Lake Superior. The district office is in Aurora.

During the fall visitors can take advantage of the Laurentian Fall Color Tour, with numerous stops along the tour that will be a treat of fall color, or enjoyed in the spring and summer as a relaxing drive around the forest. This tour includes the Superior National Forest Scenic Byway, a 54-mile road with several waysides where you can stop and take in the view or have a picnic.
In the winter enjoy snowmobiling or cross country skiing on any of the winter trails available.
