Running for a total of 154 miles between Duluth and the Canadian border, Highway 61 is a spectacular stretch of road skirting Lake Superior.

The Superior National Forest Scenic Byway, designated as Forest Highway 11, runs from the taconite town of Silver Bay to the logging town of Aurora.

The Discovery Auto Tour is a self-guided driving tour that includes two routes on the LaCroix and Kawishiwi Ranger Districts of the Superior National Forest.

The runs approximately 57 miles along the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais to Trail's End Campground and the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center. 

This 10 lake, 2 river back country canoe route has campsites similar to those in the wilderness. 

This eight mile stream route provides a different experience than the standard lake-to-lake canoeing.

The Timber-Frear Canoe Route (named for Timber and Frear Lakes) links seven lakes with seven portages. 

Six lakes linked by four portages make up the Twin Lakes Canoe Route.

The Laurentian Fall Color Tour takes travelers down both larger state and county highways as well as smaller Forest Service roads. 

The Sawtooth Mountains Fall Color Tour in the Tofte Ranger District is made of four linked routes:  Beaver Dam, Moose, Maple Leaf and Mountain View Drives.
