Moore Point and Cascade Creek Campground Closure on Chelan Ranger District
Moore Point and Cascade Creek Campgrounds are closed to overnight use due to post-fire flooding hazards following the Pioneer Fire. Day use is still allowed at these campsites. Please avoid the area if rain is forecast. These two campgrounds are situated on an alluvial fan and there is a potential risk of debris flows or flooding from burn scars up drainage, not from fire damage within the campground itself.
At Cascade Creek there are no camping options outside of the closure area or nearby the campground due to wildfire damage.
Above Moore Point (off the alluvial fan) there is a primitive “Orchard Camp” that is open to dispersed overnight camping.
The only other Forest Service camping option along the Lakeshore Trail is the Meadow Creek Shelter, which is located 7.6 miles from Prince Creek. Camping spots are very limited and will likely fill up fast with the other campgrounds being closed.
Please be respectful and do not camp on private property. Watch for national forest boundary and private property signs. It’s your responsibility to insure you are NOT camping on private property.
