    The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety during ongoing timber harvest operations on National Forest near Bogus Basin. These closures will be in effect Monday mornings from 6 a.m. through Friday evenings at 6 p.m. from June 23 - Aug. 1.

PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following are prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) land, road, and trail in the Boise National Forest described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the “Described Area, Road, and 
Trail”):


1. Going into or being upon the Described Area. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(e).
2. Being on the Described Road. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(e).
3. Being on the Described Trail. 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).
 

EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order or a written determination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. § 251.50(e)(1) or (2).
2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
3. Federal or State administrative personnel in the performance of an official duty.
4. Contractors while performing work pursuant to the contract for the Timber Sale.
 

DESCRIBED AREA, ROAD, AND TRAIL
The Described Area is all NFS Lands within the following boundaries:
1. Beginning at the intersection of Forest Road #297 (Bogus Basin Road) and NFS Road #297C in  Section 29, Township 5 North (T5N), Range 3 East (R3E), and following but not including Forest Road #297C northwest until its intersection with the Boise National Forest boundary in Section 29, T5N, R3E.

2. Following the Boise National Forest boundary northeast until its intersection with southeast corner of Section 20, T5N, R3E.
3. Following the eastern boundary of Section 20, T5N, R3E north until its intersection with NFS Trail #120 (Eastside Trail).
4. Following but not including NFS Trail #120 north until its intersection with the northern tributary stream of Shafer Creek in Section 21, T5N, R3E.
5. Following the northern tributary of Shafer Creek east until its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 21, T5N, R3E.
6. Following but not including Forest Road #297 south until its intersection with the southern boundary of Section 21, T5N, R3E.
7. Following the southern boundary of Section 21, T5N, R3E east until its first intersection with NFS Road #275 (Boise Ridge Road).
8. Following NFS Road #275 south until its first intersection with the Boise National Forest boundary in Section 28, T5N, R3E.
9. Following the Boise National Forest Boundary southwest until its intersection with NFS Trail #125 (Stack Rock Trail) on the southern boundary of Section 29, T5N, R3E.
10. Following but not including NFS Trail #125 north until its junction with NFS Road #297C in Section 29, T5N, R3E.
11. Following but not including NFS Road #297C east until its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 29, T5N, R3E, which is the starting point.
 

The Described Road is NFS Road #275 from its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 29, T5N, R3E to its first intersection with NFS Trail #098 (Around the Mountain Trail) in Section 21, T5N, R3E.
 

The Described Trail is NFS Trail #357 (Pat’s Trail) from its intersection with Forest Road #297 in Section 28, T5N, R3E to its intersection with NFS Trail #120 in Section 20, T5N, R3E.
 

The Described Area, Road and Trail are located in the Mountain Home Ranger District, Boise National Forest, Boise County, Idaho, Boise Meridian.
 

PURPOSE
The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety during timber harvest operations.


IMPLEMENTATION
5. This Order shall be in effect from June 23 through August 1, 2025, from 6 AM Monday through 6 PM Friday each week.
6. A map identifying the Described Area, Road, and Trail is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A.
7. Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are defined by the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain language definitions.
8. A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. § 3559, 3571, and 3581.

10. This Order supersedes any previous Orders prohibiting the same or similar acts in the same Described Area, Road, or Trail.
