Picnicking

Food and the great outdoors are a great way to spend the day! We have some wonderful places to unpack your picnic basket and stretch your legs. Most campgrounds have picnic areas with tables and grills for general picnicking. Group picnicking sites feature areas designed for large groups

Picnicking - Single

Picnicking in the woods - it doesn't get much better than that! We have sites near lakes and streams, and places that are shady or sunny. Find one that suits you and then come out for a lovely picnic. 

Picnicking - Group

Group picnicking areas feature tables and grills set up for large groups. Grand Menard Picnic Area has large ponderosa pine trees for shade, grassy areas for large gatherings, and an adjacent nature trail. Pattee Canyon Recreation Area is conveniently located within the Missoula Valley.  Fort Fizzle Historic Site Picnic Area is rich with historic interpretive information and is a stroll away from Lolo Creek. There are group picnic areas at some campgrounds as well.
