The National Technology and Development Recreation Program evaluates problems, develops solutions and provides field personnel and managers with daily technical support and expertise. Doug Powers serves as Program Leader and is stationed in Missoula, Montana.

Personnel at the Technology and Development Program offices in Missoula, Montana and San Dimas, California provide service to meet the needs identified by field staff. Projects are called for and annually prioritized by a Steering Committee. Submitted projects are grouped by categories or emphasis areas including: Sanitation/Water/Waste Disposal, Trails, Recreation Administration, Wilderness, Heritage, and Technical Services. The Committee meets every spring to evaluate and prioritize proposed projects and each fall to review progress. Ideas for improvement are considered for every aspect of recreation management. Submit your ideas to the committee by using the proposal form on this Web site.
