Timberline Summit Pass Ski Area

Area Status: Closed

Timberline's Summit Pass (formerly known as Summit Ski Area) as of October 2021 is now part of Timberline Ski Area Family, which operates under a special use permit with the Mt. Hood National Forest.

Summit Pass (formerly Summit Ski Area) is the second oldest continuously operating ski area in the United States. In the center of Government Camp, Summit Pass is known for its tubing hill and is also a popular place to learn to ski, snowboard and snowshoe. With one chairlift, Summit is an alternative to the more expensive ski areas nearby on Mount Hood. The ski area, which dates to 1927, also oversees the sleding hill at Snow Bunny Sno-Park, 1.5 miles east on U.S. 26.
