Hickory Landing
Hickory Landing is a picturesque, 10-site campground among cypress stands along the bank of Owl Creek and provides easy access to the Apalachicola River.
Boating
- For canoe enthusiasts, the trip from Cotton Landing, on Kennedy Creek, to Hickory Landing on Owl Creek via the Apalachicola River is a favorite full-day paddle.
- Hickory Landing, on Owl Creek, is another excellent put-in for the two-mile trip to the Apalachicola River. Owl Creek is deep and wide, lined by the beautiful river swamp habitat of the Apalachicola floodplain.
Hiking
- Hikers will enjoy access to the Wright Lake Trail, a 4.6-mile loop. The birding here is excellent and nearby pitcher plant bogs bloom in March and April.
Hunting
- Site is open to ALL campers year round. During hunting season, be aware of the hunting environment.

Directions
- From Sumatra, take SR 65 south for 1.6 miles.
- Turn right (west) on Forest Road 101 and go 1.5 miles.
- Turn Left (south) on Forest Road 101B and go one mile to campground entrance.
