French Creek Trail #3349

The trail meanders through older Douglas-fir, Western Hemlock and Noble fir forest. Views of the cascades can be seen along the ridges as well as wildflowers.

Current Conditions
This trail is in an area impacted by the Beachie Creek and Lionshead Fires. Before visiting areas affected by wildfire, make sure to review the 4 Steps for Safety for recreating in burned areas.

Wilderness Self-Issue Permit required for both day use and overnight stays from June 15 through October 15. Free permits are self-issued at the trailhead.

Getting There

Directions

West: From Detroit, Oregon,  travel west on Highway 22 just across the Breitenbush River Bridge, turn right onto French Creek Road (Forest Road 2233) and travel for 4 miles to Forest Road 2207. Veer right onto Forest Road 2207, travel for 4 miles. Trailhead is on right.

East: From Detroit, Oregon, travel west on Highway 22 just across the bridge over Breitenbush River to French Creek Road (Forest Road 2233) turn right and travel for about 2 miles to Forest Road 2225. Turn right and travel for about 6 miles to Forest Road 458. Turn right and travel for about 2 miles. Trailhead is on left.
