Bear Point Trail #3342

From South Breitenbush Trail this 1.8 mile trail splits off and heads into an open slope switchbacks up the steep, rocky face to the top of Bear Point. Nice views of Bear Lake, Mount Jefferson and the surrounding Cascades.

Current Conditions
This trail is in an area impacted by the Beachie Creek and Lionshead Fires. Before visiting areas affected by wildfire, make sure to review the 4 Steps for Safety for recreating in burned areas.

General Information

Central Cascades Wilderness Permits are required between June 15 and October 15 for both day and overnight use. Check out Recreation.gov for more information or call 1-877-444-6777.

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon, turn left onto Breitenbush Road (Highway 46), travel for 14 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 4685. Travel for 5 miles, just before the first major 180 degree turn in the road you'll see the trailhead on the right.
