General Information

Open 24 hours/day

Central Cascades Wilderness Permits are required between June 15 and October 15 for both day and overnight use at this trailhead. Check out Recreation.gov for more information or call 1-877-444-6777.

Day and Overnight visitors: Central Cascades Wilderness Permit required between June 15 and October 15; reserve at recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Parking: a valid recreation pass may be used as a form of fee payment or Central Cascades Wilderness Permit holders must leave a permit trailhead vehicle pass in vehicle.

Within developed recreation sites, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, or otherwise under physical restrictive control. 36 CFR 261.16(j)

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon, turn left onto Breitenbush Road (Highway 46), travel for 14 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 4685. Travel for 5 miles, just before the first major 180 degree turn in the road you'll see the trailhead on the right.
