Firewood Permits
The Siuslaw National Forest offers free personal-use firewood permits with a limit of 6 cords per household per year. Contact a district office to confirm permit availability.
Mushroom Permits
No permit or fee is required for quantities less than one gallon (per person, per day) unless you are collecting matsutakes. If collecting more than a gallon - even if only for personal use - a permit is required.
Christmas Trees
Christmas trees may be harvested for personal use in certain designated areas of the national forest.
Salal, Ferns, and Greenery
The Siuslaw National Forest offers a wide variety of greenery that is commonly harvested for the floral industry.
Cones, Seeds, & Berries
The Siuslaw National Forest has several different types of cones, seeds, and berries that can be enjoyed for ornamental purposes or personal use.
