Packsaddle Campground

Packsaddle Campground is surrounded by pine and fir trees with a view of the Sierra Buttes and alpine lakes. It is located 2 1/2 miles west of Gold Lake Highway on Packer Lake Road. There are 14 developed sites with piped water and vault toilets. Views of open meadows with wildflowers overlooking a ravine with mountains in the background. Views of granitic ridges and glacially serrated rock outcroppings. Campground has corrals and space for stock trailers.

Directions

From Hwy 49 at Sierra City: Drive 4 1/2 miles to Bassett's Station. Turn left on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 1/2 mile to Packer Lake Road and turn left. Drive 2 1/2 miles to reach campground.

From 89 N to 49 N: Drive 13 miles headed west to Bassett's Station. Turn right on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 1/2 mile to Packer Lake Road and turn left. Drive 2 1/2 miles to reach campground.
