High Sierra Ranger District

The High Sierra Ranger District is known for its breathtaking landscapes and diverse ecosystems spanning in elevations ranging from roughly 2,000 to over 13,000 feet, and offers a variety of recreational activities. Recreational offerings include hiking, camping, and fishing. Nearby popular attractions include Huntington, Shaver, and Florence lakes, as well as the John Muir Wilderness. 

The district is accessible via California State Route 168, a short 65 mile drive northeast of the city of Fresno. Great for day-trippers, hikers, campers and outdoor enthusiasts.
