California Forest Biomass Request for Information

The USDA Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Region is conducting market research to inform future efforts to improve the sale and utilization of cull logs and biomass from National Forests in California. 

This is a Request for Information (RFI). This is not a Request for Proposals or a Request for Applications and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government to issue any solicitation or Notice of Funding Opportunity or ultimately award a contract or assistance agreement based on this RFI, or to pay for any information voluntarily submitted as a result of this request. 

Responses are due by 5pm PT April 10th 2026.

Timber and wood products harvested from California's National Forests support forest health, jobs, and provide products for everyday use. 

Non-Wood Forest Products

Many forests offer non-timber forest product permits. Please contact the nearest Forest Service office for information about permits that may be required in that area and seasonal restrictions.
