Allen Canyon Trail (453)

The Allen Canyon Trail (453) is 1.7 miles long. It begins at the end of Forest Road (FR) 5384 and ends at the southern boundary of the Manti-La Sal National Forest, west f Blanding, Utah. The trail can also be accessed off-forest, south of the forest boundary, off of South Cottonwood Road, or County Road 227. It is a Class 1 trail. Directions

From the intersection of Main St and 200 S in Monticello, Utah, head west on 200 S for about 0.26 miles. Turn slightly southwest onto Abajo Dr. Travel on Abajo Dr. for about 2.0 miles until you get to the Manti-La Sal National Forest boundary. The road becomes Forest Highway (FH) 049. This road is also known as County Road (CR) 101 or North Creek Lane. Travel on FH 049 for about 3.5 miles. You will pass the Dalton Springs Campground (CG) to the south. At Forest Road (FR) 0079, head southwest. This road is also known as Johnson Creek Rad, Indian Creek Road, and CR 285. Continue on FR 0079 for about 17.4 miles until you get to FR 0095, also known as Causeway Road/CR 225. You will pass Nizhoni CG on the south. Head northwest on FR 0095 for about 3.8 miles. At FR 5215, head west for about 2.4 miles. At FR 5384, head southwest for about 2.7 miles. Parking for the trail is just south of the end of the road.
