Prospect #1867

The Prospect trail is 2.3 miles long. It begins at Garfield County Road and ends at Cross Creek Trail #1855. This trail begins with a descent, crossing several creeks and the Ute Trail #2031, before climbing to join the Cross Creek Trail #1855. This can be combined with other trails in the Sweetwater area to create a longer hike.

Directions from Eagle: Travel 12 miles west of Eagle on I-70 to Dotsero. Go north on Colorado River Road for 7 miles. Turn left onto the Sweetwater Creek road. Stay on road for about 7 miles, then turn left onto Garfield County Road. The last mile or so of the road may require 4WD before ending at the trailhead for Prospect Trail.
