Colorado Trail #1776 (Segment 6)

Segment 6 of the Colorado Trail #1776 is a 32.9-mile trail begins at the Kenosha Pass West Trailhead and continues through South Park and Georgia Pass to the Gold Hill Trailhead north of Breckenridge. This trail segment has an elevation gain of 5,196 feet.

General Information

The Colorado Trail, which starts outside of Denver and ends in Durango, runs through Kenosha Pass Campground.

No motorized equipment (chainsaws, drills, etc.) or mechanized transportation (e-bikes, bicycles, wagons, etc.) are permitted on the trail..

The following restrictions apply to this trail:

  • Pets must be leashed at all times.
  • Pack it in; pack it out.
  • Practice Leave No Trace principles.
  • Stay on the designated trail. Do not cut switchbacks.

Getting There

Trailhead/Starting Points

The trail segment initiates just south of the entrance to the Kenosha Pass Campground, which is located on the west side of the pass.

Parking

Parking is available on either side of U.S. Highway 285.

Directions

From Denver, drive southwest on U.S. Highway 285 approximately 50 miles to Kenosha Pass.
