Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 United States Code (U.S.C.) § 551 and 36 Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) § 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System lands within the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho National Forests that are located in Clear Creek County (the “Restricted Areas”). The Restricted Areas are defined as those areas that are located on or within one-quarter mile of the West Chicago Creek Road (NFSR #188.1) and its spurs (also known as Clear Creek County Road 114), located in T4S, R74W, Sections 22, 23, 24, 26, and 27, 6th P.M and the Hefferman Gulch Road (NFSR #247.1) and its spurs (also known as Clear Creek County Road 113), located in T5S, R74W, Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36, 6th P.M. as depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A. The purpose of this Order is to provide for public safety and resource protection.
PROHIBITIONS: 1. Camping within the Restricted Areas unless in a developed campground or designated dispersed campsite provided by the Forest Service. 36 C.F.R. 261.58(e) 2. Building, attending, maintaining, or using a fire, campfire or stove fire within the Restricted Areas except in campgrounds and dispersed camp sites that are designated and provided by the Forest Service. 36 C.F.R. 261.52(a)
EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this Order: 1. Person with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission. 2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty. This Order is in effect when signed and will remain in effect until rescinded.
