Visitors traveling to Drift Creek Falls will need to access the trailhead from the north, via Highway 18, from June 2024 - October 2024. From Hwy 18, visitors will travel south on Bear Creek Road, FSR 17, for about nine miles until they reach the trailhead. Travel to the trailhead from the south, on Forest Service Road (FSR) 17, will be restricted due to road repair and restoration work.
The work is expected to be complete in October 2024, but the work is weather dependent and may be delayed. See map for details.
Forest Service Road 789 conditions may not be suitable for trailer or camper travel. A number of pot holes and runnels are present in addition to narrow areas created by thick brush growth. Visitors to for Dry Lake Horse Camp and Horse Creek should use caution.
