2009 Notice of Intent

The Forest Service published a notice of intent in the Federal Register on December 18, 2009, to prepare an environmental impact statement to develop a new planning rule. The NOI included a 60-day comment period, and 26,000 public comments were submitted. These comments helped to inform development of the proposed rule and draft environmental impact statement.
