Our summer internship annual hiring event takes place this year between Dec. 28, 2022, and Jan. 11, 2023. The goal of this nationwide virtual event is to recruit and hire temporary student interns who are pursuing careers in natural resources, physical and social sciences, engineering, technology, administration and foundational fields. This event is an opportunity for hiring managers to take advantage of a streamlined hiring process for the temporary positions listed below.

Position Information

The following Pathways intern not to exceed temporary positions will be open on USAJobs.gov between Dec. 28, 2022, and Jan. 11, 2023. Pay grades GS 02 for high school and new college students, grades GS 03 and 04 for current college undergraduates, or grade GS 05 for graduate students.

• Foundational Interns: Job series: 0099. Entry pay grade GS-02.
• Engineering and Architecture Interns: Job series: 0899. Entry pay grades GS 03, 04, or 05.
• Administration and Office Support Interns: Job series 0399. Entry pay grades GS 03, 04 or 05.
• Social Science Interns: Job series 0199. Entry pay grades GS 03, 04 or 05.
• Biology and Natural Resources Interns: Job series 0499. Entry pay grades GS 03, 04 or 05.
• Physical Science Interns: Job series 1399. Entry pays grades GS 03, 04 or 05.

All appointments are temporary intern not to exceed positions and remain at the grade of hire. These interns may not be promoted unless they apply and are selected for another position. They may be extended if they are available to work and they may be considered for non-competitive conversion into term or permanent positions if retained until post-secondary school graduation. However, conversion is not an obligation.

What You Need to Do

If you are interested in filling a position listed above through this hiring event, you must complete the following steps by Dec. 20, 2022.

1. Log in to eTracker to enter an SF52.
2. Go to New Request, then Pathways and then Intern NTE.
3. Use a grade and series listed above.
4. Under the Notes for Position Request add “Pathways FY23 SUM Hiring Event Requests.”
5. Under Notification Contacts add “Ramak Boswell.”
6. Make sure your budget and authorizing officials approve the request by Dec. 20, 2022.
