Volunteer Opportunities

  • Trash pick-up on your own, or as part of an organized event
  • Groups or individuals may inquire about adopting lower use cabins to help maintain them
  • Adopting a trail or day use site
  • Become a campground host during camping season
  • Lead interpretive events, such as birding, plants, or hikes
  • Help with Kids Fishing Day
  • Helping with wildlife or other resource surveys
  • Office assistance
  • Volunteer for snow sport route improvement
  • Other opportunities evolving as individuals or groups show interest!

Camping/Cabin Reservation Information - To reserve one of the District's 22 public recreation cabins call the National Recreation Reservation System at 1-877-444-6777 (6 a.m. to 6 p.m. AK time) or make reservations online at www.recreation.gov
