Aerial Detection Surveys (ADS)

What's New

Every year since 1947, aerial detection surveys (ADS) have recorded the insects and diseases affecting forests in Oregon and Washington. These annual surveys are cooperative efforts by the Forest Health staffs of the Washington Department of Natural ResourcesOregon Department of Forestry, and the USDA Forest Service Forest Health Protection staff.

Maps available at the links above can be by downloaded for viewing/printing or may be used with the Avenza PDF Maps Mobile App. This application is a geospatial reader for Apple and Android mobile devices and allows for interaction with spatially referenced maps to view your location, record GPS tracks, add placemarks, and find places.  (Note:  To export georeferenced .pdf maps from the Cumulative Tree Mortality and Data Viewer, select the Tools tab in the dialogue box, then select the 'MAP_ONLY' option under the 'Print' dropdown menu.  When the export is complete, click the 'Printout' link to open the exported map in your browser.)

There are five service centers in Oregon and Washington providing assistance to federal resource managers. These offices are located in: Wenatchee, Washington; Bend, Baker City, La Grande, Medford, and Sandy, Oregon.
