Federal Excess Personal Property

Ensure sufficient and economical rural community and wildland fire protection through the loan of Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) to State Forestry and rural fire departments.

This program is authorized under the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949, Pub. L. 94-519, and the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, Pub. l 95-313. The FEPP program provides the opportunity for volunteer fire departments and the Alaska Division of Forestry to acquire personal property to supplement their basic fire equipment inventories at minimal cost.

The Cooperative Fire staff assists Division of Forestry personnel by providing advice, guidelines, and assistance in the operation of the program, by coordinating with the General Services Administration (GSA) and assuring that proper administrative control is maintained.
